YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP!
So now that you know what kind of game BattleFleet Embedded is, go get it while it’s on sale for free!! Normal price is .99.
Blattlefleet Embedded is a pretty faithful recreation of the classic Battleship game that my parents wouldn’t buy me 30 years ago because they thought I was dumb enough to swallow all the red pegs and tiny boats.
BattleFleet is the game of “Hit or Miss!” played for generations in schoolyards on grid paper. You and your opponent secretly place 5 ships on a 10 x 10 grid: The Aircraft Carrier, the Battleship, the Destroyer, the Submarine, and the PT Boat. The players then take turns trying to sink each other’s ships. If you miss, your turn ends. If you hit, you get to shoot again until you miss.
The game ends when one player runs out of bombs, or sinks all of the other player’s ships.
BattleFleet pits you vs. the computer which is great but, like most board games, it would be way cooler if it had a pass ‘n’ play option. Oh yeah, and some sound would be nice, too! This game is strangely silent. Other than that, it’s pretty right on… user comments complain of some bugs here and there, but I haven’t experienced any problems yet so I gotta give this app one thumb up for being pretty cool, and another thumb up for costing zero (for now, anyway).
